RIF Benefits

Question: What happens to my benefits when I go on RIF?

Answer:

When you are placed on RIF status, forms and information will be mailed to your address on file giving you the opportunity to continue your benefits, at your expense, for the duration of your RIF.

If you do not get rehired into a benefits-eligible position by the end of your RIF period and you continued your medical, dental, or vision plans or Health Care Flexible Spending Account, you will be offered COBRA. Under COBRA, you may continue these benefits at your own expense for up to 18 months.
